Overview
The Design Pylon has proven its remarkable benefits by being successfully installed and energized for the last ten years on a 27-km line in Denmark.
The Pylon in Denmark is designed for 1x400kV but it is feasible for 330 kV and 132 kV in even smaller versions according to the relevant loads and specifications.
Over the years we have received highly positive feedback from the stakeholders involved in the project.
The tower head is constructed as a lattice structure of stainless steel tubes welded together. The joints of the tubes are cast in stainless steel. Developing the molds for the castings and execution of the casting were difficult tasks due to the complicated geometry.
A prototype of the suspension tower was constructed and tested mechanically to 105% of the maximum design loads.

Deviations
Overhead Line with “Deviations”
The route of the line was designed with many small deviations to adapt the route to the landscape and the farms in the area. Towers influenced by these deviations (angles up to 5◦) will have increased forces in tower top, shaft and foundation and the shafts and foundations for these towers were strengthened compared to the normal suspensions towers. This was deemed beneficial for the line expression in spite of the increased weight of the structures.
As V-chains were used throughout, the appearance from tower to tower did not change even if the line angle varied from tower to tower.
